“Notes from the Nomadic Shtetl’s Travels” installation by Natalia Romik is exhibited in the women’s section of the Nożyk Synagogue.
The mobile archive set out in the summer of 2016 for a tour of the former Jewish towns “shtetls”, exploring the layers of urban memory and preventing social displacement of their history. Nomadic Shtetl Archive acted as a mobile reading room, a meeting place and exhibition space presenting pre-war maps, photographs of architecture and recordings. Nomadic archive was designed by Natalia Romik in collaboration with the Architectural Collective Senna (Sebastian Kucharuk, Agata Korba, Peter Jakoweńko).
The installation is open for visitors every day from 10:00 to 18:00 until 10 May except on Shabbat.
