Claim filed to the Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw regarding Nazi symbols at the March of Independence

On 11 November some of the March participants held banners carrying racist symbols and messages and shouted anti-Semitic slogans, also raising their hands in a gesture of Nazi salute. The Jewish Religious Community of Warsaw and the Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland filed a claim to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw about the act punishable by the articles 256 § 1 and 257 of the Criminal Code sanctioning the public insulting of a group of people or individuals due to their national, ethnic, racial or religious affiliation or due to no religious affiliation or violating their bodily integrity for the same reasons.
