Tragedy in Toulouse

On Wednesday 21, March  at Nozyk Synagogue, Warsaw prayer for those who were harmed during Monday’s tragedy in Toulouse will commence. Yesterday, in the area of Jewish school, unknown assassins shot three children and a man.

 

Jewish community of Warsaw is shocked by the current events in Toulouse. Thoughts of Polish Jews are with the families of deceased, at this most difficult time of loss.

Read more...As you probably know, the ten commandments are viewed by many as the epitome of our religion. What you may not know is that drinking a glass of wine is considered one of the ten commandments.

The text of the commandment about szabat in Exodus (Szmot – 20:7) is that we are commanded to „remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy”. Jewish tradition asks how can we remember szabat in a sanctifying manner, and has a clear answer: kidusz!
