Letter from the representatives of Jewish organisations concerning the Monument to the Righteous Among the Nations
The community of Polish Jews shall never forget the heroic bravery of those who, despite the risk of being denounced or death, were ready to help the victims of Shoah. No manner of commemorating their deeds will ever be good enough. A monument is one of the forms we adopted for commemorating extraordinary deeds such as those done by the Righteous. However imperfect, it is still a symbol. It is difficult to show the loneliness and isolation of those who performed these heroic acts while opposing, on the one hand, the Nazi extermination, violence and barbarism and, on the other hand, the frequent enmity and the willingness to denounce their compatriots – the worst kind of neighbours.

Commentary about the speech of the President of the United States of America Barack Obama
 Members of Polish Jewish community accompanied President of the United States of America during his visit in Poland last year, among others at the Monument of the Heroes of the Ghetto Uprising in Warsaw. His significant emotional attitude and set of words that he chose reflects his deep overness about the horrors of the German Nazi atrocities in Poland during World War II.
Therefore it is deeply upsetting that President of the United States of America Barack Obama has used, during the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony the expression „Polish death camps”.
