The historic synagogue in Kazimierz Dolny acquired by the Jewish Religious Community in Warsaw in 2002 is no longer in use for religious purposes. It has been renovated and its main prayer hall is open to visitors.
The synagogue building also operates guest rooms and hosts exhibitions, film screenings, and concerts. Its the prayer hall – once teeming with religious life and fervor – houses a permanent exhibition of photographs by Benedykt Jerzy Dorys entitled “The Jewish Kazimierz.” The images presented in it capture the atmosphere of pre-war Kazimierz, with its beautiful historic buildings and characteristic figures of the inhabitants rushing about their daily lives.
The synagogue building houses a bookstore, with Jewish culture related souvenirs, cosmetics based on Dead Sea minerals, and the like. The store merchandise is also online at sklepikjudaica.pl or judaicashop.pl. It also houses "U Esterki" Kosher Cafe, which serves coffee, tea and sweetmeats.
